Motivational Moment -

"Safe and Sound!"

I could lift you up

I could show you what you wanna see

And take you where you wanna be

You could be my luck!

Even if the sky is falling down

I know that we’ll be safe and sound

Only 3 weeks left in our 2015 Hero’s Journey Challenge!  A lot has been accomplished over 20 weeks.  This week, we push even further.

How much are you invested in the culture of life?  It’s a challenging question because it generates tension between our conscience and the dominant thinking of the world.  In this week’s “Transformational Challenge” (last section), we reflect on that question in order to gain clarity on where we stand.  This reflection is deeply personal.

We are growing our ability to turn people toward good!  There is a light that people can see in our eyes which generates hope and optimism. They sense our confidence, joy, and peace from within which keeps us steady. This is all very impressive, but still incomplete.  We must dig further.

More in the next section…

God Bless,
--Pat

A completed 20-mile run.  Mentally slaying dragons.  Being spiritually awakened.  A light of hope for others who are in need.  It’s tempting to say,

“I’m good.  It’s time to rest!”

Absolutely not!  What we need now is more of what is uniquely you:  Physically, Mentally, Spiritually.  We need more cowbell!  I promise.  Years from now, you won’t remember being tired.

Here is this week’s workout plan.  We’ve started the 3-week recovery period
in order to be ready for race day.  Doing this will significantly reduce our risk of injury.

Monday:  Swim; Core Strength 1

Tuesday:  5 Mile Run; Core Strength 2

Wednesday:  8 Mile Run; Core Strength 1

Thursday:  4 Mile Run; Core Strength 2

Friday:  Swim; Long Stretch

Saturday: 12 Mile Run
Sunday:  Sports with Girls; Long Stretch

*Core Strength 1 focus on chin-ups, pushups, planks, lower back/abs

**Core Strength 2 focuses on squats, hip strengthening, and stretching

The Transformation Challenge
“Examining Your Hero DNA”

“I don’t want to kill anyone.  I don’t like bullies.

I don’t care where they are from.”

For this week’s transformational challenge, we focus on the most fundamental element of the Hero’s DNA:  The intrinsic need to protect life, especially our most vulnerable.

Here’s the challenge.  Read (13) recent quotes made by Pope Francis on the sanctity of life (click here).  Pause after each and write down if you personally agree or the reason why you do not.  Take time to reflect, gain spiritual clarity, and know where you stand.

The activity is intended to help tease out any beliefs you may have that are based on convenience rather than conscience.  If your conscience calls you to reconsider anything, then simply make some commitments and go!  Don’t make it hard.

There is a strong, positive correlation between a person’s heightened feeling toward projecting life and the hero behaviors we all admire.  This combination of courage, passion, intelligence, and love creates possibilities, even if it requires personal risk and sacrifice.

This is the “best you” we need to surface to make your “hero journey” complete.

Dare to try…
