Dear Freedom’s Light Supporters:

Apologies for the delayed email.

I successfully completed the 70.3 Mile Toughman in just over 7 hours. The best way I can express how I feel is that I am
more “at peace.” Given the significance of today’s date, I can’t think of a better way to honor those who have passed by supporting our 5 charities and working to maintain my ability to endure.

For all of those who donated over the past few weeks and sent me notes today, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. It meant the world to me when reading them. I realize that not everyone reads emails over the weekend, so I won’t do my final tally for the season until Wednesday.

On a celebratory note, I want to congratulate my two older daughters Elizabeth and Lauren who completed their first triathlon yesterday (see attached pictures). Over the summer they worked really hard to with me to prepare. To see them face their fears and do the swim/bike/run at ages 6 and 7 made me extremely proud of them. I know I could not do that at their age! So, as the saying goes girls, “CONGRATULATIONS! You are now “ToughKids” and no one can ever take that away from you!!” Great job girls…

My final Freedom’s Light note for 2011 will go out near the end of September. Thank you again for such wonderfulsupport today and over the whole season.

God Bless…

--Pat

USO's Operation Care Package (www.uso.org)

Hundreds of thousands of military personnel are serving in far-off places defending the liberties we hold so dear - away from their families, friends, and the comforts of home.  In 2003, the USO discovered the changing needs of those thousands of deploying troops.  Understanding the impact that the little things can have and difference they can make, the USO launched Operation USO Care Package providing comforts of home in the form of a care package.  For as little as $25.00 you can send a care package letting a service member know that you care.
